Arboriculture involves the application of principles from various disciplines such as biology, chemistry, and ecology to understand the needs of trees and provide appropriate care.  Modern arborists use sophisticated tools and techniques to diagnose tree diseases, assess tree risk, and perform practical tree surgery.

As arborists, we offer a service to inspect trees for risk assessment and management purposes.

Increasingly, insurers require such an assessment to ensure that risks have been adequately assessed and tree owners are fulfilling their duty of care in law.

Tree inspection always involves a ground-based visual survey and a full written report, though sometimes we must climb the tree/s to inspect the condition of the crown aerially, and we occasionally also bring in chartered collegues who help us with internal surveying using equipment such as Picus sonic tomograph, for example.

On Spring days, there is nothing better than being outside, amongst the trees, quietly assessing, measuring, testing and recording for a survey.

This early March at Cow Common in Ewelme, Oxfordshire and the views were stunning.
