Practical tree surgery encompasses a wide range of services to trees, hedges and large woody shrubs.

Trimming hedges is one of the quickest and easiest ways of making a garden look sharp and well cared for.

We have the kit and equipment, and the skills and experience to make a safe and clean job of even the largest boundary hedges and at this time of year, hedge trimming makes up a larger percentage of the works schedule than normal.

These lovely Thuja hedges, (like all Cupressus varieties), need to be treated carefully and trimmed only so far as the new growth.

Cut too hard, and the plants die, leaving unsightly brown patches.  New plants can be introduced into the mature hedge if necessary, and will blend in over time, but there’s no short cut for careful trimming!
